Senior Bowl Week

The draft is the lifeblood for most successful NFL teams. The draft is 7 rounds long with each team having a selection in each round, and the teams are permitted to trade their draft picks. The NFL draft is a 3 day event held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The first night of the draft is only the first round, day 2 is the second and third rounds, and the third day features the final 4 rounds.

The Senior Bowl is an event for draft prospects to practice, play, and interview in front of NFL coaches. The Reese’s Senior Bowl takes place all week in Mobile, Alabama with the game being played on Saturday. It’s a great opportunity for players to make a name for themselves and raise their draft stock. Rookie sensation for the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott was the MVP of the Senior Bowl last year.

The Senior Bowl was usually restricted to seniors only, hence the name. However, in 2013 they made juniors who had earned their degree also eligible for the Senior Bowl. This has increased the competition, and resulted in many of the top draft prospects participating in Senior Bowl week.
